Full height shutters cover each opening with a single tall panel. Tilt the louvres and the whole window brightens or settles at once. Close them in the evening and the room feels complete, even before the lamps go on.

They suit you if:

  • You love clean lines and a calm, finished look
  • The window is a bay, a casement, or a pair of French or patio doors
  • An even wash of light matters more to you than separate privacy top and bottom

Consider another style if: the window is tall and you want sky at the top with privacy below. A mid rail lets the upper and lower louvres tilt independently, but if you want to fold the top open on its own, tier on tier will serve you better.

Because each panel is solid hardwood, wide openings can take full height panels and keep their line for years, without the sag that heavier materials can develop.

All full height shutters are made in solid hardwood (Basswood, Ashwood or Paulownia) in your choice of painted or stained finish and louvre size. Never faux wood or MDF.
